Brothers Drinks Co. Ltd

It all started with Gabriel Showering, who made cider way back in 1658. Since then, the family have been making cider and eventually, four Showering brothers founded Brothers Drinks Co in 1992. The brewery is constantly exploring cider recipes with the goal of making light, refreshing and unique ciders using a variety of fruits. Having 14 generations of experience, you can bet that Brothers is exceptionally skilled at their craft. The Brothers' ciders were originally only available in music festivals but soon became so popular that in 2005, it launched worldwide and became the UK's leading cider producer.

Good cider often starts with good fruit, but the Brothers’ cider started with family. It was 1658 when Gabriel Showering started pouring love and hard work into creating delectable ciders. Since then, making cider has been the Showering family’s business and growing baby.

The cider-making business took off and in 1842, the family opened their first pub - The Kings Arms in Shepton Mallet. It was tough work, but the Showerings were tougher. They continued to open more pubs until four Showering brothers decided to take one step further and opened a brewery - Brothers Drinks Co - in 1992.

Cider is basically just adult apple juice, since it’s made from the unfiltered juice of apples which is then fermented for that sweet sweet alcoholic kick. Brothers is known for their ciders but the brewery doesn’t just stop at apples - it constantly experiments with a wide array of fresh fruits to bring its customers a variety of fruity flavours.

Is cider vegan?

Brothers’ ciders are real tasty, no cap, but it’s the fact that they are vegan and gluten-free that takes the cake. That’s right, Brothers Cider is Vegan Society accredited. But isn’t cider vegan? Well, not always. You may think that cider is just fermented apple juice, but unfortunately, the processing of the cider isn’t always vegan-friendly; many cider companies use a fining agent during the filtration process that is made from animal products.
