let's tap into their story!

Back in 2007, James Watt and Martin Dickie were thoroughly fed up with the stuffy UK beer market so they decided to spice things up by making their own hardcore craft beers and boom, Brewdog was born. Brewdog started out as a smol and humble brewery that became infamous for their wacky ideas and bold creations.

In 2008, Brewdog caused quite a splash when they released UK’s strongest ever beer at that time - Tokyo. The press dubbed it the “downfall of Western civilisation” while the Portman Group - the group that makes all the rules for alcohol producers in the UK - banned the beer. Unfazed by this “minor” obstacle, the brewery continued to charge forward by exporting their products to Sweden, Japan, and America instead. From there, they became Scotland’s largest independent brewery.
You would think that Brewdog would learn from the backlash they received about Tokyo, but no, the brewery is not one to back down from a fight. In 2010, Brewdog released “The End of History” - the world’s strongest beer in history with a whopping 55% ABV packed in a strange squirrel bottle. It was also the most expensive beer in history, but perhaps the kick will be worth it?
Brewdog’s flagship beer is their Punk IPA - a delicious hoppy ale that has bursts of caramel and tropical fruit. The Punk IPA was actually ideated even before the brewery itself, as James and Martin wanted to recreate the West Coast style IPA, which has an incredible flavour experience.

Brewdog certainly has a feisty personality, but they are also generous. If you are curious about their brews - specifically on how to make them - you can check out their DIY Dog Catalogue. The recipe to literally every beer they’ve ever made is there.

Brewdog? No, GreenDog.

Brewdog may be punk but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t care about the environment. In fact, the brewery became the world’s first carbon negative brewery in 2020. In 2021, Brewdog started to work on their anaerobic digestion plant - a process in which microorganisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen.

Brewdog might have had a long and whacky history, but the brewery ain’t done yet. Brewdog will definitely continue to make a mark in the craft beer industry, so watch out!
